Foundations Class Scholarship

The CRE 101: Foundations of Real Estate Management course offers an in-depth introduction to the field of property management, catering to individuals keen on exploring the commercial real estate sector and related career paths. The curriculum covers critical aspects of commercial property administration and management, encompassing building operations, financial accounting, contract oversight, and more. Tours of prominent downtown Chicago buildings are also part of this exciting class.

The BOMA/Chicago Foundation offers a scholarship for the Foundations class. Details regarding scholarship eligibility are provided below, with the application deadline set for two months prior to the commencement of the upcoming class.

Applicants for the Foundations Scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • This scholarship opportunity is for individuals working for* a Chicago office building in a capacity other than property management who are interested in transitioning to a property management career. The ideal applicant is one who has or is developing an understanding of important aspects of building operations (for example: security guards, janitorial staff, and building engineers). Applicants must have worked in a commercial office building for at least six months. *For purposes of this scholarship, working “for” a Chicago office building includes employees of building contractors.
  • This needs-based scholarship is only available to individuals whose employers do not cover the cost of the Foundations class.
  • At a minimum, applicants must be enrolled in an associate degree program.

Please contact Jaclynne Madden at jmadden@bomachicago.org if you have questions or would like to know when BOMA/Chicago will next offer this class.
