The Building Owners and Managers Association of Chicago and the BOMA/Chicago Foundation (collectively "BOMA/Chicago" collectively) knows that you care how your information is used and shared. We appreciate your trust that we will use your information carefully and sensibly. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes our policies with respect to information that BOMA/Chicago collects including through the website at www.bomachicago.org ("Website").

The information we collect generally includes: (1) Personal information you supply, and (2) Tracking information collected as you navigate through the Website.

We may collect and store Personal Data which you provide to us.  The collection of this information may occur whenever you contact us with a question or concern, when you register for meetings or purchase education products, register to become a member, post a job on the section of the Website devoted to available positions or any other time you provide information to us.  The information we collect may include your name, work and home mailing addresses, work and home telephone numbers, mobile number, and/or email address.

To attend events, courses, and meetings, you may be required to fill out a registration or order form and provide Personal Data which we will use to process your registration or order. In addition, your name and information may appear on registration or attendee lists distributed at BOMA/Chicago events, meetings and conferences to other attendees and third parties.

Aggregate and Non-Identifiable Information

When you use the Website, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and pages visited on the Website.  We collect this information for aggregate reporting on Website activity.  For example, we may want to know how long the average user spends on the Website or which pages or features get the most attention.

When we collect this information we endeavor to make any Personal Data non-personally identifiable by combining it with information about other individuals or by removing characteristics that make the information personally identifiable to you.  BOMA/Chicago reserves the right to share with third parties information about use of the Website and aggregated information about you and other visitors to our Website.  We share this information in order to improve our Website and develop content and services that may be of interest to you.

Sharing Information

BOMA/Chicago is not in the business of renting or selling information to others.  We may share your personal information with our authorized service providers that perform certain services on our behalf.  These services may include providing customer service, performing business and sales analysis, and supporting our Website functionality, other features offered through our Website.  These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but are not authorized to share or use such information for any other purposes.

We will provide opt-in and opt-out opportunities as applicable to the service or product being offered. In addition, if you are a member you may update your privacy settings by visiting the “My Profile” section of the Website after having logged in using your user name and password.  Due to production, mailing, and system timelines, it may take some time to process your request.  In addition, we may still use your information to communicate with you for other purposes, such as for customer service.

Online registration and information such as credit card numbers will be secured using a commercially accepted method of encryption. Children

We do not knowingly solicit or collect information from persons under the age of 16.  We do not have a mechanism for determining the age of the visitors to our Website.
