BOMA/Chicago Elects New Officers, Board Members for 2025
BOMA/Chicago elected Nancy Capadona, Portfolio Manager of HEARN, as President of the association. Capadona was elected during the association’s 2024 Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 21, at the Four Seasons Chicago. Capadona succeeds Phil Stafford, Chief Operating Officer of Colliers Chicago, who served as President for two years.
“Phil Stafford has been instrumental in effectively representing our industry during challenging times,” said Farzin Parang, Executive Director of BOMA/Chicago. “Under his leadership, our association has forged strong, collaborative relationships with government and elected officials at the City, County, and State levels. We’ve also deepened our engagement with neighborhood and civic organizations across Chicago. These efforts promote understanding and opportunities for our members and community partners, creating a better Chicago for everyone.”
Nancy Capadona’s journey with BOMA/Chicago began early in her career, when she began classes to attain the Real Property Administrator designation. She has continued to be an active member, serving as the Board Liaison for the association’s Education Committee and contributing to the Scholarship and Faculty Development committees. In 2012, Capadona was recognized as the BOMA/Chicago Property Manager of the Year. She currently holds a dual role as Portfolio Manager at HEARN and General Manager of 875 North Michigan Avenue.
As President, Capadona will guide BOMA/Chicago’s strategic direction on key issues such as real estate taxes; energy efficiency and sustainability; building security and life safety; building codes and standards; member education; diversity and inclusion; and fostering partnerships that advance operational excellence in Chicago’s office buildings.
“It’s an honor to serve as BOMA/Chicago’s third woman president,” said Capadona. “My approach to leadership is inclusive, empathetic, and solution-oriented, ensuring every voice is heard. Together, we will continue advocating for the future of commercial real estate in Chicago.”
