BOMA/Chicago Visits Green Era

Last week, BOMA/Chicago took a field trip to Green Era Campus.

Green Era’s mission is to create more sustainable communities by supporting local food production through better management of biodegradable waste and access to soil. They're transforming a 9-acre vacant brownfield on the South Side of Chicago into a renewable energy facility and green oasis for economic empowerment, clean energy, fresh produce, and vibrant communities.

BOMA/Chicago buildings lead the nation in green building space, and we are always interested in learning more about innovative sustainable initiatives and partnership opportunities.

We were also joined by elected officials on the city, state and county levels. Attendees included Aldermen Howard Brookins, Matt Martin, Samantha Nugent, and Daniel La Spata, Cook County Commissioner Bridget Degnen, and staff from State Representative Robyn Gabel’s office.
