BOMA/Chicago Elects Officers and Directors, Thanks Outgoing Directors

BOMA/Chicago officers and directors were elected during the association’s 2021 Annual Meeting held on November 18.

Derrick Johnson, senior vice president of Zeller, was re-elected president of the association. Phil Stafford, chief operating officer of Colliers International, was re-elected to vice president and Nancy Capadona, portfolio manager at The Hearn Company, was also re-elected treasurer. All three will serve a second one-year term.

“Derrick’s leadership and knowledge have been critical to BOMA/Chicago as we work to advance the commercial real estate industry—especially in these difficult times,” said Farzin Parang, executive director of BOMA/Chicago. “With Derrick at the helm, we’re excited about the upcoming year as tenants continue to return to the office and we amplify our advocacy efforts to push for property tax reform and transparency.”

As president of BOMA/Chicago, Johnson will continue to guide the strategic direction of the organization around key issues and initiatives, including property taxes, building codes, member education, energy management and sustainability, security and life safety, and diversity and inclusion, among others.

The following individuals were elected to the association’s board of directors for terms ending in December 2024:

  • Gary Michon, EQ Office
  • Wade Rodgers, Lincoln Property Company
  • Steve Sise, Golub & Company

BOMA/Chicago re-elected Tamala Ballard, retail property manager of EQ Office, as the association’s emerging leader member, for a term ending in December 2022.

The association also welcomed new board member Kristi Rankin with CBRE, to fill the unexpired term of Neil Pendleton.

BOMA/Chicago also thanks outgoing and long-time board members for their tireless efforts and unique contributions to the industry. Outgoing directors include:

BOMA/Chicago’s board of directors is comprised of 22 commercial real estate executives, who average more than 20 years of experience in the industry.
