Tax Day Protests April 15

Demonstrations and protest marches in the Central Business District are expected in observance of "Tax Day" on Saturday, April 15. In addition to usual Tax Day protest activities, organizers are also looking to use the day to demand that President Trump release his taxes. This will likely make the area around Trump Hotel at 401 N. Michigan a focal point of the activity. A forecast for warm weather is likely to contribute to the crowd size.

The main protest/march is set to begin at Daley Plaza 50 W. Washington at 11:00 a.m. The march will step off following a rally and speeches.  For social media information see the link below:

The anticipated route is:

  • East on Randolph to State
  • North on State to Wacker
  • East on Wacker to Wabash
  • East on Wacker
  • End across from 401 N. Wabash - Trump Tower

Be advised that this route is subject to change.

The event is expected to conclude at 2:30 p.m. However, recent protest events have resulted in protest activity lasting throughout the day and into the evening, particularly on weekends and with warm weather.

As always, if you "See Something, Say Something". For life-threatening emergencies, call 911. To report suspicious activity, call 855-RPRT-2-S4 (855-777-8274) immediately.
