Many building owners and operators are confused over the course of action their building should take to protect their building's reputation. This seminar will discuss how to avoid common mistakes when selecting a vendor for a water management plan, secondary disinfection, a brief history of legionella and Legionnaire's Disease, ASHRAE-188 and its current legal status, what a water management plan should look like, sample control limits and best practices to prevent legionella in your building and what it takes to remain compliant after receiving a water management plan.

Michael Byerley, President at Global Water Technology
Michael joined GWT in 2009 as an intern and was hired full time following his graduation from Northwestern University. During his first few years, Michael closely worked with GWT’s sales and service teams to develop his understanding of the technical side of GWT’s products and services, gain perspective of the water treatment industry, and help create a progressive marketing and growth campaign.
Under Michael’s leadership, first as Vice President and most recently as President and Owner, GWT has overshot all annual growth goals. These include achieving a 35%+ growth rate for 5 years straight, two acquisitions, establishment of localized services in six surrounding states, a branch in Central California, and the addition of many new, high grossing product and service lines such as ASHRAE Standard 188 Compliant Water Management Programs and GWT’s waste water treatments.
Brian Burgess, Account Executive at Global Water Technology
Brian joined Global Water Technology in 2016 as an Account Executive. He has worked in the water treatment industry for over 7 years, with a strong specialty in the commercial and institutional markets in the Chicago Downtown Market.
Brian also recently achieved Certified Water Technologist (CWT) status with the Association of Water Technologists, which is the most notable certification in our industry and demonstrates the understanding he has of water treatment.
Brian’s role at GWT includes management of key accounts, training new technical representatives, overseeing Chicago area tech reps, troubleshooting, special projects, and more.
