BOMA/Chicago offers live courses each year for you to earn your Real Property Administrator (RPA) and/or Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designations. We highly recommend taking these lives courses through us, as you will not only learn and master the content taught by our seasoned instructors, but you will also network with peers and glean a 360 degree understanding of the industry.

Real Property Administrator (RPA) Designation

An RPA brings a full understanding of all aspects of property management to an employer in the commercial real estate industry or to a building owner. The overall goal is to enhance the value of the asset through proper and strategic decision making.

Experience Requirement

Before you receive your RPA designation, you are required to demonstrate three years of verifiable property management experience. The criteria are outlined in the RPA Designation Experience Form

Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) Designation

The FMA curriculum will teach you how to manage facilities in a way that best supports staff and fits into your organization’s overall objectives. From planning and project management to environmental health and worker safety, this program also provides the information needed to minimize maintenance costs and properly manage other timely issues.

Experience Requirement

Students are required to demonstrate three years of verifiable facilities management experience or equivalent. The experience must be performed for a portfolio or building 50,000 square feet or larger. Work-related experience must include responsibility in 28 of the 41 criteria outlined in the FMA Experience Criteria Verification Form.

Certificate Programs

Whether you are new to the industry or a professional looking to enhance your skills or gain recognition, a BOMI International certificate program is right for you. All certificate programs provide the fundamental knowledge you need to better understand your job responsibilities and are a good way to begin your journey toward earning a BOMI International designation.

To earn a certificate, students must complete three courses and pass an exam at the end of each course to show their understanding of program content.
